Visiting Taj Mahal

I had a dream to see all Indian monuments which were displayed in my History and Geography textbooks when I was in school.Though my school did take me some of the famous places in delhi like Qutub Minar,Nehru Planetarium,Akbar tomb and many more but it was all close to our school.I was always fasinated to see the one of the wonders of the world,Taj Mahal built in the memory of Mumtaz Mahal by the great Indian emperor Shah Jahan.I had a wish to see the monument myself and also buy a momento which I can keep it to myself in my room. But it was not in my luck and I could not see the monument in my childhood.I remember my father had promised once to take me to Taj Mahal during my vacation breaks but due to official job tour,it could not be possible for him.Another time,it was weekend and everthing was set and we had covered almost more than half of route and reached Mathura but then there was political unrest in that area and national highway was closed and hence we had to return back home.I remember crying and feeling disappointed in such a situation.

Then the time went and I was busy in studies and my life and there was no point and excitement left to see the Taj Mahal. But now after many years, few weeks back,my small kid asked me about Taj Mahal and its story. It brought me the old memories and this time I did realize to fulfill my old dream and does not want history to repeat itself. So my family decided for a weekend trip to Taj Mahal and booked railway tickets to Agra.next day we reached Agra railway station and had great time having breakfast near Taj Mahal and then quickly moved to get the entry ticket to Taj Mahal.

Once we entered the main gate and saw the Taj Mahal,it was like out of world experience and the Taj Mahal was like a shining marble. We clicked some pictures and then spent around three hours covering the monument.I could now relate myself with stuff from textbooks and was a perfect guide for my child.

It was an awesome experience and I would visit again in the future.
